I started painting silks more than twenty years ago for myself, family & friends. I had my own fashion boutique in Bath in the 1980s and miss the interaction with my customers it provided, I loved dressing elegant ladies about Town in Liberty prints and Scots Harris Tweeds and employed lots of outworkers to help me translate my ideas & vintage patterns into feminine clothing for relevant for their lifestyle,I copied their favourite jacket or skirt and made to measure the evening outfits which made a statement Ballgowns & Prom dresses in Rainbow wild silks. Once people knew i cut the cloth around their figure and made what they wanted they didn't want clothes off the peg anymore ! These days I try to echo fashion and Art historically, with reference to the exhibitions I see and the fashion, and then capture the fleeting light in nature all around us.
