Welcome To Our Shop:)
My name is Christielle and my partner’s name is Luke and together we started Cavalier Creations around 3 years ago. We have 3 children aged 22 months, 7 and 11 and our beautiful dog Dazey.
At Cavalier Creations everything we create is made entirely from reclaimed wood, which we source from all over Cornwall. Recycling and wood are two things my partner and I are very passionate about. We could not believe how much wood actually gets put into landfill that could be re-used even if it were just for fire wood. We felt very strongly that we needed to do something to help improve this situation, even if we could only make a small difference, we couldn’t not do anything. So we decided to start collecting as much wood that would head to landfill as possible. We would respond to ads, if we saw skips whilst out driving we would always go and ask to have the wood, anywhere we saw it we would stop. I honestly can’t stress enough the hours of skip hunting but we have loved every second of it.
My partner is a carpenter and decided to start making small items for our house out of the wood we were collecting. Items then got bigger and the house was a bit full so we put some items up for sale and have not looked back since. We started off in our garden shed and now have our own workshop. We have done everything from tiny stools and signs right up to bespoke bedroom fitting and seating for over 100 people for a wedding venue. We combined two things we are passionate about and have managed to create something beautiful and that helps our environment.
Another upside to this is the way in which our wood is sourced means we can make bespoke items that are actually affordable to everyone. This is not about money for us we just love what we do and want to share it with the world or at least Cornwall:)
Through our love and passion for what we do, we hope to not only be able to create stunning yet practical bespoke items for people to enjoy in their homes that are truly affordable, but more so we hope to inspire people.
