Working in my little garden studio in Melbourne, Derbyshire, I make unique, handcrafted pottery items with a touch of whimsy for you to enjoy.
Inspiration comes from my surroundings. Nature is on my doorstep and I get lots of ideas ambling through the local fields, sometimes peering into the hedgerows. I enjoy combining my observations from nature with my love of patterns.
Dogs and birds are common subjects in my decoration. Dogs because my best 4-legged bud Bruno is an endless source of inspiration and cuteness. And birds because they can fly, and any animal that can fly is a wonder to behold.
My items are made from stoneware clay, which is durable and long-lasting. I make both wheel thrown and slab-built pottery and sometimes enjoy combining the two.
My pieces are playful and lighthearted - an escape from the more serious aspects of life - my aim is to convey colour and joy wherever possible.

These ceramic flowers made by Lucy are even prettier than the photograph. They arrived well protected in their box and in good time. Lucy included arrangement hints for displaying them including tips on best way to shorten stems if that suited your vase.
