Originally from Surrey and then London, I have been a maker of sorts for most of my life although there have been a few distractions along the way - children, career, grand children, men: some more welcome and rewarding than others!
In September 2015 after moving to Milton Keynes, I started a City & Guilds in Creative Textiles and as a result developed new skills and more importantly met many new talented and like minded friends.
I work mostly with textiles and paper - often combined - and love to mix up colours, patterns and techniques. I make new items from scratch such as books, bags and dolls but also alter existing items such as suitcases or pieces of furniture. I call my shop 'all from my scrap bag' because I mostly use pre-loved fabrics - giving clothes and household linens a new purpose.
When I bought my current house in Wolverton, I was looking for a room to have as my making space and since retiring last year have spent many happy hours in it, often accompanied and inspired by my maker friends.
