About BlackSilver Jewellery

BlackSilver Jewellery

I create unusual and unique sterling silver jewellery in a small workshop on the West Coast of Scotland

Hello and welcome to my page, thanks for dropping by! My name is Heather and I live in the west coast of Scotland. I started making jewellery around 10 years ago after taking some night classes at the Glasgow School of Art and Cardonald College. I have mainly been making items for friends and family but also selling some items for online. After spending 34 years working as a Nurse and Lecturer I decided to commit more time to my artistic side and have been spending more time in my workshop assisted by my workshop cat. I work mostly in silver, silver clay (PMC+Art Clay), 9ct gold and enjoy making statement chains/necklaces and bracelets. I occasionally work with beads both on their own and also incorporated into the silver work. I take inspiration from a range of sources including nature and indie culture. The symbolism of the heart is especially prevalent in my work as the heart is not just vital organ but also a symbol of the soul. All of my work is 100% handmade and If you see something you like but would like a different variation please contact me to discuss a personal commission. I am registered with Edinburgh Assay Office and all silver over 7.8g will be hallmarked with both the UK and my own makers mark.
