Welcome to my Folksy shop 'Mandy's Makes'.

Here you will find lots of quality handmade items made with love and attention to detail.

I have always had a love for art and design, colour and pattern and so in 2012 I took the plunge and returned to college as a "mature student" to study a course in Art & Design. After a year of hardwork and lots of fun I came away with a UAL (University of the Arts London) Level 2 Qualification.

I make all my items at my home in Nottingham usually in my conservatory (if the weather is agreeable), which looks out onto my small but suitable garden where I love to see the birds and watch the flowers grow. I get a lot of inspiration from the flowers in my garden and you can often find me wandering around with a camera in my hand to capture a new fern that has suddenly appeared from nowhere or that lovely double poppy that probably grew from a seed that one of the birds had dropped earlier in the year!

I love to design and make beautiful, decorative (mostly textile) pieces for the home, incorporating a love for applique, machine and hand embroidery techniques in my work.
