I take the things I see around me, mix them with the things in my head and make beautiful soup!

Hi, my name is Cheryl Lucas, I am an artist and illustrator and am based in Glastonbury, however, I work primarily from my narrowboat on the Kennet and Avon Canal with my husband and two miniature poodles. My passion has always been to make things, whether it's two dimensional artwork or actual functioning objects. I just enjoy the process of bringing ideas to life, of taking lots of unrelated things and creating something new. My background focused on pattern which is still my greatest inspiration and forms the basis for most of my work. My other great love is the natural world around me, hence my move to the canal where I am surrounded by a beautiful and constantly changing environment.
I work with pencil, watercolour and acrylic,mainly on paper, wood or glass and can also render my work digitally, but this is by no means a finite list. I like to be inspired and challenged so will go with whatever comes my way!
