Individual handmade creations from the Animal Kingdom

*moved to Etsy* My name is Julie. I now live in Cambridgeshire, although I was born and brought up deep in the Essex countryside. I was very blessed to have a father who was very knowledgeable about the wildlife that surrounded us, and who was a very accomplished watercolour artist. I shared his love of watercolour from a very young age and have always been interested in sewing and all things craft. I started as a commissioned watercolour artist in the nineties. Last year I decided to combine all my passions in one project, inspired by nature and The Badgers Sett was formed. Edward Brock the badger (pictured) was my first attempt and stays in the family. Since then my unique, fully handmade characters have proved very popular with schools (as hanging displays) Theatres and retail displays. Of course, they also make excellent littles characters to sit on a shelf at home!
I am always happy to receive a new commission request, or should I say challenge! Each piece is made from my hand drawn pattern, which is then transferred onto cotton calico and a soft body is made, which I then paint and dress. takes 7 - 10 days and are always posted first class signed for. Badgers Sett Creations are made as collectors’ items and are not made to be given as toys. I try to keep my prices to a minimum, and base this on size.
