This wall hanging of a splendid peacock is a 3d needle felted sculpture which is flat on the reverse allowing it to hang naturally on the wall. The peacock has been sculpted into shape using woollen fibres and a barbed felting needle and covered in appropriately coloured merino wool fibres. The feathers on the back and wings have all been individually needle felted and each tail feather has been individually crafted, wired and mounted on a felt sheet. The wires allow the tail to be adjusted slightly. The flat, reverse side has been covered with a blue felt sheet and a small hanging hook added. The peacock measures approximately 35cm (14") tall and 35cm (14") wide and would look stunning hanging on any wall. This dragon model has been made using a core of white wool which has been sculpted into shape using a barbed felting needle and then covered in a red coloured top coat. Spines along his back, the wings and tip of the tail have been formed from a striking red and gold fabric. The wings are wired. Flames from his mouth and smoke from his nostrils have also been added. Finally he has been mounted on a rustic wooden slice to aid stability. This dragon is a large model measuring approximately 60cm (l), 28 (h)m, 26 (d) as posed. The overall length of the dragon (excluding flames) is 81cm nose to tail. I have included a mug in the final photograph to give an idea of size. Please note: Parts of this model are fairly delicate (flames/smoke) and therefore the dragon will not withstand frequent handling. The Christmas pudding has been made using two pieces of hand made felt. The pudding uses felt created using merino wool fibres topped with coloured silk fibres with the 'cream' being made from plain white merino wool fibres. The resulting felt pieces have been cut to size, hand stitched together and lightly stuffed with a polyester stuffing material. A golden coloured hanging thread has been attached and a small green bow added to the top of the pudding. The silk fibres on the surface of this felt add both colour and texture and a lovely sheen when it catches the light. A beautiful and unique decoration for Christmas time. The felt cloud is lightly padded to create a three dimensional shape, approximately 3cm thick. Multicoloured felt balls and three felt hearts have been strung on cotton thread and hang below the cloud. At the top a small brass ring has been added to facilitate hanging. The decoration can be hung on the wall or suspended as a mobile to spin in the breeze. A perfect gift for a new baby or baby shower. The cloud measures approximately 20cm wide x 9cm tall. The felt balls are approximately 1.5cm in diameter and the hearts measure approximately 25-30mm in width. The total height of the decoration as a whole is 29cm. A similar decoration featuring pastel coloured hearts and balls is available in my shop. This mobile is intended as a decorative item, it is not a toy. The background of this picture has been created using strips of coloured silk fabric needle felted to a felt base. Wool and silk fibres have been used to blend the colours. The trees have been added using woollen strands and small woollen balls while the sheep have been cut from a piece of 100% wool felt and needle felted into place and a woolly coat added. Birds have been added using black thread. The needle felting process adds texture to the surface of the picture. The picture has been mounted using a black and white card mount and can be purchased mounted or framed in a simple black frame, dimensions given below. This scarf has been made using fine layers of purple merino wool fibres topped with a layer of multicoloured silk fibres that have been wet felted. The felting process causes the fibres to bind together to create a stable fabric. A stunning addition to any outfit, the merino wool is soft and warm while the silk fibres add a pop of colour, texture and a beautiful sheen to the surface of the scarf. The silk fibres have been added to one side of the scarf only, the reverse has been left plain. . The picture has been created using wool and silk fibres and fabrics. Strips of silk fabric and woollen fibres have been attached to a piece of backing felt using a needle felting process which binds the fabric and fibres to the backing felt. The stones of Stonehenge have been cut from a piece of handmade grey felt and needle felted to the surface. In addition to binding the fabrics, the needle felting creates a beautiful texture to the surface of the picture, with the raw edges of the fabric left exposed in places to add to the artwork. The snowy scene has been further enhanced by the addition of small white and crystal beads which have been hand sewn to the final piece. The textile picture has been mounted onto a piece of thick card and a white card picture mount ( 8" x 10") added (picture area 7" x 5") leaving it ready to be framed. The badger has a black and white face, black underbelly and a thick greyish brown coat. The legs have been formed over wooden dowels to add strength and stability and to aid mounting of the badger. The eyes are black acrylic half pearls. The badger has been mounted, with his head slightly turned, on an oval shaped piece of plywood covered in artificial grass. The picture has been created using strips of coloured silk fabric blended with wool and silk fibres, which have been needle felted to a felt base. The background is created using strips of silk fabric blended with wool and silk fibres. The island, cut from a piece of handmade felt has then been added and silk fibres used to create the surf. Birds above the island have been stitched on with black thread. The needle felting process binds the fibres and fabric together without the need for stitching and adds texture to the surface of the picture. These bars of soap have been wrapped in layers of soft merino natural white (unbleached) wool fibres. Multicoloured silk fibres have been added to the surface and the wool/silk layers have then been felted to form a tight wrap around the soap. Felted soaps act as an exfoliating scrub and look attractive in the bathroom with no soggy mess in the. soap dish. To use, just wet and massage gently until the lather appears and then use as a normal bar of soap. Each soap comes with a card with the soap ingredients listed and also a bit of information about the felting process. The soap bars are all different in the colour combinations of the silk fibres added, as shown in the photographs, and one will be sent at random. The coloured silk fabric, cut into strips, have been needle felted to a felt base to create the base of the picture and additional wool and silk fibres have been added to the surface to blend the colours together and add texture. The needle felting process binds the fibres and fabric together and also add texture to the surface of the picture. The picture has been mounted using a black and white card mount and can be purchased mounted or framed in a simple black frame, dimensions given below. Picture size 6"x 4" Mount size 7"x 5" The frame has a hanging loop and a prop stand allowing the picture to be hung on the wall or freestanding. The fibres are bound together and sculpted into shape using a barbed felting needle and a needle felting technique. After creating the initial shape using white core wool, a top coat of blue and orange merino wool fibres added with appropriate markings around the head. The legs are formed from wool wrapped wire, the eyes are beaded and a beak made from air dry clay has been added. The kingfisher has been mounted on a perch, also needle felted, with a rustic wooden base. The kingfisher is roughly life sized with the ornament as a whole measuring approximately 24cm tall. A barbed felting needle is used to bind a sculpt core woollen fibres into shape. A top coat in appropriate colours is then added to thhe body and legs, ears and a bob tail added. The feet and legs have been formed by wrapping wool over wire to add strength and stability. The eyes are needle felted and horsehair whiskers have been added. The hare has been mounted on an oval shaped piece of plywood covered in artificial grass. This hare measures approximately 17cm tall with the oval base measuring 15cm x 9cm. This is an ornamental sculpture, and is not intended as a toy. This scarf has been made using fine layers of turquoise merino wool fibres topped with recycled sari silk fibres to add colour, texture and sheen to the surface. The scarf has then been wet felted, a process which binds the wool and silk fibres together to create a stable fabric. The merino wool is soft and warm while the silk fibre layer adds additional colour, texture and a beautiful sheen to the surface. This scarf is super lightweight yet still warm and cosy and adds a striking finish to any outfit. The silk fibres have been added to one side of the scarf only, the reverse has been left plain. . The resulting scarf measures approximately 184cm x 22cm and is long enough to tie in a knot or wrap around the neck for extra warmth if required. Wool is a natural fibre making it eco friendly, sustainable and biodegradable. It is breathable and reacts to the body temperature giving warmth in the winter but cool in the summer making this an all season accessory. A lovely gift for mothers day or any other occasion.
