Hello there, I'm the Nellie (Helen) behind Nel Clare Jewellery.

Silversmithing started as a hobby and, several courses later, gradually became an obsession..and don't even get me started on enamelling!

My pieces are handmade with mostly sterling silver, the occasional piece made of Argentium silver and all enamelling is on copper (so far...watch this space). I may even throw in the odd bit of brass here and there too...

Often inspired by things I love, memories, beautiful summer days, the starkness of winter and the properties of the metals themselves, I create as ideas come to me. This means I generally only make one of each item. Birds, flowers and butterflies form a high percentage of my work so far, and enamelling adds the vivid colour we see in the natural world that surrounds us.

I love working with metal and work hard to create pieces that are unique, elegant and finished to perfection.

I often work with my cat Nahla (AKA Professor Longhair, Nahlinator, and The Furry Chicken) by my side. Getting under my feet. Climbing up onto my workbench. Creating havoc.
