Lossmann Naturals is a family story, just like our values.
My Mum has always been very into crafting and everything homemade. Growing up, I was always the guinea pig for new food recipes and experiments, the mannequin for home-sewn clothes, and Santa's little helper for any DIY jobs that had to be done at our home. I got the bug early on. I remember making clothes for my dolls, building furniture for them from cardboard and leftover wood from our home renovation project, as well as doing extracurricular activities such as sewing, pottery, painting, glass melting and art, and Fimo Clay jewellery.
More recently, my Mum showed me how to make homemade soaps. This was the final piece of the puzzle for me - it intrigued me so much that I wanted to practice it, too. I started to experiment, practice, evolve and innovate, formulating not just new soap recipes but also bath bombs, candles and balms. The desire to do this for a living grew to such an all-encompassing obsession that it was no longer enough to just give these little gifts to my friends, family and colleagues for fun and use them as guinea pigs for new products. The business idea started to develop.
Following in my Mum's footsteps of crafts and creating artisan products was one thing. Now I needed a brand name. I decided to use my ancestors' surname Lossmann, which was used until around mid-1930s. Having heard of the name from my Grandmother, who only had it for about 3 months before the name was Estonianised, I have thought a lot about using it for my own business one day. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to do what I love, and use a brand name that means so much to me and my family.
This is my story. It all started with family and without them Lossmann Naturals wouldn't exist.
Now I enjoy making handmade natural soaps, bath products and soy wax candles, creating new and interesting products, and giving gift sets to friends and family. I hope everyone who orders from me enjoys their handmade candles and natural bath products, and I hope to see you returning to me for more in the future!
