LoopsandLil was established in May 2014.
Crochet is my passion and a very important creative outlet for me. I have been crocheting since I was introduced to it at 10 years old by a lady called Mrs Nolan. She was an exceptionally accomplished crocheter and knitter. I remember being fascinated as I watched her make beautiful woolly things.
My true love is designing my own crochet pieces and patterns. Many of the items I sell have taken a long time to make and there is always a little love woven in along with the wool. They are often bought as future family heirlooms, of which I’m proud.
I chose the name LoopsandLil because all crochet begins with loops and Lil is a shortened version of my middle name which was passed down from my maternal grandmother Lillian.
I also sell my work via another online maketplace, at craft markets, fayres and artist open house events. I am the founding member of The Handmade Collective. I work freelance for Hobbycraft, you can find me on their website and blog.I also sell my patterns through other major crafting websites too.
I appreciate how important it is for potential customers to read positive reviews. Everybody wants to feel reassured when buying online. I'm new on Folksy but not elsewhere! When I'm not crocheting I'm spending time with my 2 children who are 9 & 12 and my husband, who is old enough to know better :)
My guilty pleasure is singing along to Pulp's 'Common People' at the top of my voice when no-one is home ;)
