Thirty something years ago , my lovely Nan tried to teach me how to knit, but being about 8 years old, my hands were too small to hold her knitting needles. The next time I visited , she gave me a pair of child size knitting needles and showed me how to cast on. I sat there for what seemed like ages practising casting on. Unfortunately, I found this very boring and I never picked up those little knitting needles again. Fifteen years later I taught myself to knit and crochet and I caught the bug. I like to think that she would be very pleased that I now at least share her passion for knitting!
Dyeing wool is a more recent addition to my wool and yarn obsession, I wanted to learn how to create wool that was unique and that nobody else would have .It may be similar, but it will never be exactly the same! I thought hand dyed yarn would add something extra to my hand knitted items and make the more unique and one of a kind.
When I am not knitting, I love to walk , read and I love the odd weekend away to somewhere pretty here in Scotland.
