Kiitos Studios
(Prounounced “Key-Toss”, meaning “Thank You” in Finnish)

Hi, I’m Sarah Carpenter, the artist and designer behind Kiitos Studios.

I completed a PostGrad in Design for Visual Communication at London College of Communication (part of the University of the Arts London) in 2015 which led me to recognise my passion for pattern design. It soon became clear that the repetition of the mark making took me to a state of mindfulness which was wonderful for my mental well-being. This revolution coincided with a trip to Helsinki, Finland which had a huge impact on me, my lifestyle and gave me the impetus to launch “Kiitos Studios”.

Having relocated, kiitos recently joined forces with a four other fierce females in Folkestone to establish a makers collective “Daughters of Industry”. This launched with a Pop Up Shop in the heart of the creative quarter and was a resounding success. Many opportunities have come out of this experience so watch this space!

Alongside Kiitos Studios, as an artist, I have enjoyed working across various projects including having work exhibited in Saatchi Gallery, a commission by Morgan Stanley working with the British Museum and various workshops at the Tate Exhange, London. Most recently, my work has been on the cover of the Lancet Journal of Psychiatry which, as an advocate for mental health, was very exciting. It’s always exciting to see how other projects feed into my work with Kiitos Studios and vice versa.
