Artist and Nurse

A bit about me.

Well, I am Fiona (newly Randle!), a part time nurse on the Isle of Skye. On the days I am not working, I potter around a makeshift art studio and draw and paint and occasionally print. It’s only recently I decided to look at jewellery, I wanted to make a bracelet for myself to compliment my 50’s style wedding dress in colours of green, white and pink and after looking at a variety of bracelets I naively thought, “I can do that!”. And so, the buying spree began. Beads of every colour, spacers, pliers, pearls, cord, wire, rondelles, findings and endless searches on YouTube and websites filled my time. I love the feel of the beads, the coolness of them and how they warm up with touch, the variety of colours and types, looking up their meanings and understanding chakras and influences. This was a whole new world that I have wholeheartedly embraced. And then the designing began. It’s taken a while to pluck up the courage to do this, but encouraged by friends and family, I feel I am at the start of my journey. Where it will go I don’t know, but here, on Skye, I have a beautiful landscape to look at and use for inspiration.
