Hello. I started making paper beads for a presentation on teaching techniques as part of a course I was taking for my other job. I am a driving instructor. As I needed a subject completely different from the day job, I searched the internet for ideas. I have always been crafty and put aside my creative tendencies in order to make a living elsewhere. As my husband is an artist, it would not do for us both to be broke,
I was somewhat inspired by the positive response I received from fellow candidates on the course, who all went home with a paper bead necklace they made themselves. I was hooked. Thousands of paper beads later, having lost the skin on my fingers through the glue and lacquer I needed to use to protect the paper from moisture and give it strength, I began buying in the beads from various sources. I now make a variety of different types of jewellery using good quality crystals, beads, metals etc. My favourite method is beading. Many of my items are seed beads or a mixture of seeds and others. There are earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces, and I have recently become interested in making Christmas beaded baubles. There is no end to the variety of things to make. I hope you enjoy my work.
