Hello.
Here is a little info about me. I am retired and create at home to keep myself occupied. I trained in Haute Couture dressmaking in London after I left college and have many years of experience in making high quality bespoke ladies dresses and outfits. I have made many of my own clothes over the years including my own wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses. I loved making my daughters costumes and prom dresses but I found making clothes for children the most fun to make!
I started JQDresses when my daughters friend had her first child. She asked me to make her little girl a Special little dress to match her bridesmaid dress which was for my daughter's wedding. That was the start! It inspired me to make my range of bespoke Special Occasion Baby dresses of which I started with 10 Special Occasion dresses. I progressed to include Christening gowns and Christening Rompers which have proven to be very popular.
Since then my daughter has given me a grandson! So I expanded to include little boys garments but I'm slowly moving away from Special Occasion Outfits and Party dresses with more playful good quality day wear keeping my unique style.The demand for boys outfits is difficult to keep up with.
I'm pleased to announce that I now have granddaughter! Hopefully she will model a few of my dresses.
No two dresses or outfits are ever exactly the same. I don't buy large quantities of material so I mix and match fabrics to maximise what I buy and to waste as little material as possible. I try to make similar garments in a range of sizes so hopefully you'll find something that's the right size that you'll like but if you message me for a variation on something we can talk through the options.  
I hand make all the garments myself. Each one is hand cut, machine stitched, pressed and hand sewn by myself and to the highest possible standard in a pet free, smoke free environment. I always recommend a cool gentle machine wash and cool iron for my garments. The price reflects the cost of materials only. I'm often told my garments are too cheap but that's because I want you have a lovely unique bespoke outfit for as little as possible.
