Hand and machine embroidered textile birds, flowers and more

I have been working with textiles for the last ten years, using hand embroidery, applique, painting and other techniques to produce my work. Most of my ideas are inspired by local birds and wildlife - bees, butterflies and insects, although birds remain a favourite.

My garden, although quite small, is full of birds and bees, probably because it has that natural, wild (overgrown) look about it.

I work from home in a small bedroom, which gradually fills with clutter until I have finished the current piece of work.... I make hanging birds, bird, butterfly and bee brooches and flower hearts. Recently I have started to create layered textile pieces of work featuring birds and their habitats - something I have thought about for some time.

I welcome commissions for any of the above items, including house portraits, and can personalise most items - just contact me to share your ideas.
