The glass was heated up to around 800 degrees celsius in a small glass fusing kiln, causing the copper insertions to oxidise to a lovely red blue. It was then brought to annealing temperature to make it strong. When cooled, the edges were smoothed using a glass grinder. It was then put back in the kiln for fire polishing. This whole process takes over 18 hours to complete. This pendant has a copper flower within red tranparent striker glass. It has been fully annealed to make it strong. This would make a great gift or stocking filler. This pendant is fitted with a gold coloured bail and will come with a free black cord necklace. It is approximately 1 1/2 inches by 1 inch in size so quite substantial. The glass was heated up to around 800 degrees celsius in a small glass fusing kiln, causing the copper insertions to oxidise to a lovely red blue. It was then brought to annealing temperature to make it strong. Any sharp edges were then smoothed by my grinder before slumping into a bowl shape. This whole process takes over 18 hours to complete. This square bowl has a copper moon and stars on vanilla and sunflower glass and is approximately 5 1/4 inches across. The heat has turned the copper a lovely dark red and blue. It has been fully annealed to make it strong. This would make a great gift or treat. The result is a beautiful, almost black, glass which is both simple and yet has depth of colour. The aventurine glass has a nature subtle shimmer. It is approximately 7.5cm high and 5.5cm across. It was then slumped into a candy bowl shape. This whole process takes over 18 hours to complete. This square bowl has a stunning textured tree of life design and is approximately 5 3/4 inches across. This whole process takes over 17 hours to complete. This cabochon has a beautiful burnt orange dichroic heart design on a black glass base. This cabochon is a very pretty delicate pale pink, like the sorbet shades so fashionable in the Edwardian era, with a pretty dichroic shimmer mosaic reflecting to light teal, lilac and blue.The beautiful dichroic is very difficult to photograph! This is set within a cabochon setting on a good quality silver plated spring bangle which has a circumference of 7 1/4 inches. The spring allows the bangle to fully open for ease of use. These buttons are made with turquoise and vanilla frit and encased in clear glass. The copper within the blue has reacted with the sulphur in the vanilla glass making a truly unique reaction, like pebbles on a beach. Some of the blue has darkened to a almost black. They are approximately 3.5cm across. They will be perfect to fasten a bag or hand knit cardigan. This sale is for 2 buttons. Each button is handmade and there will be some irregularities in shape due to this - do not expect perfectly matched holes! This black based glass has been fused onto midnight aventurine glass, which is complements beautifully - one of my favourite colour combinations. The aventurine glass naturally has a delicate shimmer. It is fitted with a silver coloured metal barrette clip. It is approximately 10 cms long. The glass was then shaped with a glass grinder before fire polishing to give a glossy finish on the sides.This whole process takes over 18 hours to complete. This cabochon is a beautiful dichroic shimmer in burnt orange in a repeated heart design with a black base. The beautiful dichroic is very difficult to photograph! This is set within a cabochon setting on a good quality silver plated spring bangle which has a circumference of 7 1/4 inches. The spring allows the bangle to fully open for ease of use. It was cast in a mould and then the glass was heated up to around 780 degrees celsius in a small glass fusing kiln and then it was then brought to annealing temperature to make it strong. It was then fire polished in the kiln to create the smooth surface. This whole process takes over 17 hours to complete. These button are made with Egyptian blue frit cast within an vanilla base and encased in clear glass. The copper within the blue has reacted with the sulphur in the vanilla glass making a truly unique reaction, like marble veining. Some of the blue has darkened to a dark chocolate.They are approximately 4cm across. They will be perfect to fasten a bag or hand knit cardigan. This sale is for 2 buttons. Each button is handmade and there will be some irregularities in shape due to this - do not expect perfectly matched holes! Frit casting is done by combining tiny pieces of glass, including clear, within a casting mould. This means that there may be variations of colour depth within the piece and this is normal. Handwash only (I wouldn't want to put a large glass button in my washing machine!). It has been fully annealed to make it strong and is suitable for use with hot tea or coffee cups but not pans straight from the oven. It would make a great gift, secret santa or stocking filler.
