About Gina Isabella Simone Art

Gina Isabella Simone Art

Why I create

Gina Isabella Simone Art was created to provide unique works of art in the form of quality art prints to a wide audience. As an interior designer have you ever struggled to find a really unique print for your client? Or have you found a great piece but it's not the right size or it doesn't quite go with the colour scheme or theme of your project? Or are you an individual who is looking for something inspiring to have up in your home or office but can't seem to find anything that's as interesting as you are or that's actually affordable without being cheap?

As well as having a variety of styles, sizes and prices to choose from in my online store I can also create something just for you either editing images you already have such as designing a print based on a collage of sentimental family photos or pictures that your children have done. Or are you looking for a print that has certain colours, textures or shapes that would blend in perfectly with the design project you are working on for your client?

The great thing about having an eclectic and adaptable style is that I really can cater to all your needs.

So why art prints?

Art has always been a part of me. It's a natural talent that has seen me through some tough times in terms of constructively processing challenging thoughts and emotions. It's connected me to some amazing people and has really come in handy when needing to "decorate" an average looking home or keep my daughter entertained on a rainy day.

This business will support the dreams of a currently single Mum who is literally making every creative effort to turn her talents into a steady stream of income. So it's important for me that you know that if you do purchase from or work with me that your hard earned money will be appreciated, respected and used wisely! And in return you get a very personal customer service experience, very unique artwork and a quality product that will hopefully inspire and uplift you for years to come.

Influences:
William Blake, Austin Osman spare and all expressionist artists. Mostly I make art to maintain balance, to process my thoughts and emotions and to find answers to what is happening on a deeper level in all areas of life. Art gives me a direct line to my subconscious. It's a way of tapping into the subtle energies around me.

Education:
I took art in senior school and completed my A levels in Art History and Practice. I then went to the Foundation School of Art in South Africa where I specialised in Illustration, Painting and Printmaking. I've also completed an apprenticeship in Goldsmithing and jewellery making. Aside from that I have spent a lot of time with other creatives along the way who have taught me everything from how to carve wooden sculptures and ornaments through to working with cement to create ornate 3D wall murals.

Experience:
As well as my goldsmithing apprenticeship I also worked for four years as a fabric artist for Carole Nevin Designs in Cape Town, South Africa. And for a short period of time I joined a team of decorators doing bespoke interior designs. I've also designed murals as well as designed and constructed sets for plays and events while in senior school. In Sep 2017 I hosted a six week course called Art from the Heart at the Waterside Arts Centre in Sale, Manchester UK which I designed to work through each of the 7 chakras using specific creative activities aimed at balancing each centre and heal those aspects of life that these relate to. I used my qualifications and experience as an energy healer and combined this with art with an intent to heal through creativity.

Motivation:
Art is my way of communicating with and expressing those aspects of my inner world and my environment which are not obviously tangible. I create with the goal of learning something more about myself and others. It helps me come to a place of peace and it shows me images of the subconscious and the spiritual. As a healer I also use it as a diagnostic tool when doing aura graphs sketches of people's energy field ) for clients.

Process and Technique:
It's very rare that I plan what I'm going to create. I usually watch and listen as the process unfolds. It's my way of speaking to the universe and connecting to source. I do also get visions which I feel strongly inspired by but I don't get stuck trying to depict an exact image; it's more the theme and general message that I aim to portray. As for materials I try to make the most of what I have or what I can afford at the time. I don't limit my creative expression to having to have certain tools or materials first. I allow the process to unfold one step at a time an even allow the whole image to change drastically if it wants to.

Purpose:
I would like the honesty of my art to inspire others to be brave enough to give those aspects of themselves that they frequently feel the need to hide away, an arena to shine and be fully embraced. A canvas, simple scrap piece of paper or blank digital template is a safe place to express. It doesn't feel your pain, your anger or your fear. It doesn't judge your flirtatious sexual desires or require any explanation for whatever "chaotic mess" you may cover it with. I would sincerely love everyone to use art consciously as a healing and spiritual development tool.....as I have....and always will.
