I design & hand make beautiful bespoke Jewellery and Gifts, with inspirations, love & passion.

I started Fuchsia Box Gems so I could share & sell my crafting passions. During my journey I have found intricacies of wirework & that was it, I was totally hooked! I enjoy incorporating Wire, Wire Mesh, Gemstones, Amber from Gdansk, Crystals, Seed beads & fossils into my Jewellery designs, the wire helps to bring out the colour & characteristics, as well as giving them more movement & versatility.

Each piece of Amber is unique, "Amber glows & holds secrets into the past"

I fuse multiple materials lovingly, to create outstanding unusual works of Art, to share with everyone! I incorporate wooden products, box frames, wall décor, gemstone trees, gorgeous quality fine art photographs, designs & inspirations from my dreams, wire sculpturing, homewares, striking bespoke wirework, authenticated gemstones, Amber, freshwater pearls, crystals, seed beads, shell pearl, coral, shell, copper, 925 Sterling Silver, with Yellow Gold & Rose Gold. Any materials I can think of that will enhance the chosen product for yourselves. I love to freely design & handcraft, it is such a loving passion for me.
All the photographs are genuinely taken by Myself & my husband. We use Canon, Fuji & Minolta cameras, and a variety of quality lenses.
I live in the heart of Somerset and design & hand make my items in my studio at home. We are very lucky to be surrounded by outstanding local countryside & beaches, which is where some of my inspirations come from.
We have 3 rabbits, Thunder, River, & Maze.

Amber:
There are approximately 256 different colours of Amber of which only 7 of them are used in Jewellery. Amber is a Natural Organic Gemstone and is between 20-150 Million years old. It is a hard translucent fossilized resin originating from extinct coniferous trees that are now under the Baltic Sea, about 85% of Amber in the world comes from the Baltics and can be found washed up after a severe storm. Green Amber is rare, of which less than 2% is found in the world. Blue Amber is very collectable and is found in the Dominican Republic and Indonesia and is the rarest of which less than 1% is found in the world. Amber can withstand being exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures, which includes the Ice Age & movement of tectonic plates. All our Amber comes from a family run Company in Gdansk, Poland, and is certified as being Genuine Baltic Amber.
The amberization process is estimated to take 2-10 Million years. Some Amber has water droplets trapped inside as well as aromatic resin, which will often drizzle into any cracks & fissures. This process can sometimes encapsulate air bubbles, sediment, translucent crystals, small insects, bark, and foliage. Circular and radical cracks are called Sun Spangles. Baltic Amber can have hairs from the flowers of Oak Trees & black cracks filled with tiny Pyrite Gemstone Crystals. Cherry coloured Amber is the oldest, as the colour darkens with age.
The oldest British found Amber is in Gough’s Cave, Cheddar, Somerset, around 10,000 BC. In addition the oldest known recovered Amber is 320 million years old!

Tanzanite:
Tanzanite is a one location Rare & Precious Gemstone, found at the foot hills of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. First discovered in 1967, and given its name by Tiffany & Co. This beautiful and stunning Precious Gem is the Blue-Purple variety of Zoisite & is known for its Trichroism, it can appear to be Sapphire blue, violet or burgundy, depending on the light, cut of the gem, and positioning of the gem.
Tanzanite is December’s Birthstone.
