Crafting is my passion it is what makes me who I am.

I have been a crafter ever since I was a child; my mother taught me the basics of crochet, knitting and sewing; I have taught myself everything else mainly by trial and error. Eight years ago, I was diagnosed with the chronic autoimmune condition Rheumatoid Arthritis. My crafting has now taken on even greater importance in my life, especially as I am no longer in paid employment.

I use my crafting as a method of pain management; focussing on what I am making leaves no room for anything else; even if I am still in pain afterwards, it is never quite so intense. The other bonus to crafting is that it keeps my hands moving; somedays, I start making as soon as I am out of bed, it has become second nature to me, and I love every moment.

I live and work in Wellington, Somerset. My living room is my central crafting hub, but I am also setting up my old greenhouse to be my studio. I have found that leaving the house and going to my studio increases my productivity massively.

Currently, I am working on my Christmas stock, I have a lot of plans, and I am busy putting them into action. I use my tree, hedge and shrub cuttings to create a range of wreaths and other similar woody items. There are also the sewn and crochet decorations and stock, which is based on the season, so my busy time is coming up.
