Why Ada ? you say... well my Great Auntie Ada was a great creative inspiration to me. As a little girl, we spent many hours turning strawberry punnets into houses with painted roses around the doors and sewing tiny curtains. Turning cotton reels into French knitting machines, and making scarves for dolls. Ada was a gentle giant of a woman, whose sweetheart lost his life in the war, a story told in a scrapbook of postcards she kept. She never married but lived into her 90's in a house with gas lighting, an outside loo and a mangle in the yard. Hence I have named my little crafty business in her memory.
