I often have more than one item in stock of my standard pots. So please do ask me if you want to purchase multiples. Bigger pots like vases and fruit bowls are usually unique however, so there is likely to be only one of these in stock. Any questions please get in touch! Thanks!
This beautiful ceramic pendant has been handmade from stoneware clay and fired using a traditional Japanese technique called Raku. It is glazed on one side in mushroom and green crackle glazes over a simple spiral detail.
The pendant is strung on a lovely smoky grey suede thong and measures 45mm across (1.7 inches). Raku ceramics are one-off pieces and make beautiful gifts.
This is a listing for one raku pendant only with suede thong.
Raku is a pottery technique that has its origins in 16th Century Japan. It involves removing ware from the kiln while the glaze is still molten, putting it into a reduction chamber and covering with sawdust. This method creates the characteristic 'crackle' glaze.
The chance nature of this process means that every raku piece is completely unique with its own personality. Translated from the Japanese, raku means 'enjoyment'.
