Striking necklace featuring a trio of Lapis Lazuli 8mm round beads with two 6x10mm tubes to each side, separated by trios of 6mm round beads and highlighted with 5mm Tibetan style gold flowers and tiny faceted Lapis Lazuli beads for just a hint of sparkle.
The necklace graduated from 6mm to 4mm Lapis Lazuli rounds and fastens with a Tibetan style gold rose toggle clasp.
Both the clasp and the flower beads are nickel and lead free.
This is quite a short, almost choker style necklace, designed to sit above the neckline of a standard t-shirt, but the length can be adjusted on request.
Lapis Lazuli is the most popular alternative to Sapphire for the September and Virgo birthstone
Lapis Lazuli is an ancient rock, an aggregate of the minerals lazurite, calcite and pyrite.
It has been prized by human civilisations for over 6000 years.
Cleopatra famously used ground Lapis for her eye make-up and Renaissance artists made a costly pigment from it called 'ultramarine', perhaps the most famous example being the headscarf in Vermeer's 'Girl with a Pearl Earring'.
It is thought to promote self awareness, clarity of mind and inner peace and historically the stone symbolised friendship and truth.
Handcrafted in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, this would make a lovely handmade gift for an anniversary, September birthday, a special 'Thank You' or as a well-earned treat for yourself.
This necklace measures approximately 16.5 inches (42cm), which is almost choker length, but feel free to contact me if you would like it longer/shorter, via the 'contact' tab below my shop banner.
Your necklace will be wrapped in tissue and presented in an organza gift bag.
Price includes delivery within mainland UK.
