Full description

The elegant bowl has been individually handturned from a beautiful piece of Sapele hardwood and finished to a smooth satin sheen.

I can't say this wood was locally sourced as it's from Africa but it was sustainabley sourced and purchased from a reputable specialist shop.

One of Sapele's most striking characteristics is it's natural chatoyance, a shimmering golden glow within the grain that seems to shift and move as the bowl catches the light. This gives the piece depth , warmth and character that photograph can only partially capture.

Measuring approx 15cm in diameter and 7cm deep, it's ideal for holding small dry items such as keys , jewellery, wrapped sweets or pot pourri.

Each piece is made in my small Lancashire workshop making every piece completely unique. Finished with foodsafe Carnauba wax to highlight the natural beauty of the timber while allowing the grain and figure to take center stage.

Please note.

This bowl is not intended for wet food use. Carnauba wax can spot if exposed to moisture.

This is one of my earlier pieces so is not signed and dated. It is engraved with my earlier branding.
