Full description
One of our 'Curious Creatures of Bracklesham Bay' series of images. The series was inspired by the groynes which we saw on Bracklesham and Wittering beaches which had been transformed and sculpted into captivating and intriguing shapes by the actions of the waves and currents over many years, and which aroused our imagination.
Groynes, for those unfamiliar with them, are wooden structures erected on beaches to prevent and counter the effects of those waves and currents in causing erosion. Instead, the effects act on the groynes and create these wonderful shapes.
The shape and colour of this groyne immediately brought to mind a giraffe's head - so we made a giraffe, adding the neck, body and legs.
The image of the groyne is printed onto photographic paper and added to the design.
The frame is 230mm x 230mm x 20mm, and can be wall hung or can stand alone.
Choose between a black, white or wood frame.
The item will be sent, boxed, via Royal Mail 2-3 day, tracked service.
The item code is 40-Giraffe/Pr/Ph
