Full description
Crafted from a eucalyptus tree that once stood in our garden, this bowl gives new life to a much-loved tree that sadly fell victim to a storm several years ago. Rather than letting the timber go to waste, it has been carefully transformed into a series of handcrafted bowls, preserving part of the tree and its story for years to come.
This listing also shares the journey of the bowl from start to finish:
The eucalyptus log cut to length
The blank roughly shaped and prepared for the lathe
Mounted on the lathe
4-7. The bowl taking shape through the turning process
8-9. The finished handcrafted bowl
The natural grain, colour, and character of the eucalyptus make each bowl unique, while the turning process highlights the beauty hidden within the timber. Both functional and decorative, it is a tactile piece of wooden craftsmanship with a personal history rooted in the garden where the tree once grew.
Diameter: 200mm Height: 110.
