Red Creek Jasper is named after 'Red Creek' - the stream running through the mining area of China where the stone was discovered as recently as 2010, by miners who were searching for Turquoise.
It probably isn't a true Jasper, possibly it is a type of marble, but the material is still being tested.
It is also known as Cherry Creek Jasper, Red River Jasper, Chinese Picasso Stone or New Picasso Jasper.
It is a beautifully patterned and colourful stone, with shades of olive green, rust, mustard yellow, grey and cream.
The earthy tones are full of warmth and energy.
Cubic zirconia is the stabilised cubic form of zirconium oxide, a man-made material with a very high refractive index that is used to mimic diamond

Full description
The centrepiece of this gorgeous necklace is made from alternating 6x9mm Red Creek Jasper tubes and 6x4mm Red Creek Jasper rondelles, separated by 3.25mm micro-faceted 'champagne' Cubic Zirconia beads.
The necklace continues with 6mm Re CreekJasper round beads and fastens with a simple rose-gold plated toggle clasp.
Red Creek Jasper has an array of muted earth colours of grey, green, cream, red-brown and amber with interesting patterns and markings.
No two beads are the same, making this a truly unique piece of jewellery.
Cubic Zirconia is the stabilised cubic form of zirconium oxide, a man-made stone with a very high refractive index that is designed to mimic Diamond.
These tiny faceted beads add a soft sparkle to the necklace.
Hand made in my home studio here in beautiful Devon in the UK, this would make a lovely gift for a birthday, anniversary, Mother's Day or as a treat for yourself.
This necklace measures approximately 17 inches (43cm).
Your necklace will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a pretty organza gift bag.
