The inspiration came from a love of classic Japanese art and storytelling. Katsushika Hokusai’s The Great Wave has fascinated me for years — its energy, movement, and balance of power and beauty feel timeless. I wanted to create a way for people to carry that iconic artwork with them, blending artistry with a functional item that book lovers and art enthusiasts could enjoy every day.
I also wanted to capture the story and feeling behind the wave — the awe, respect, and wonder of standing before something larger than ourselves. By transforming it into a 3D bookmark, each page you mark becomes a small moment of connection to that legend, evoking imagination and the enduring magic of the sea.
Safety information
Materials: 3D printed from PLA (Polylactic Acid) — a plant-based, non-toxic, biodegradable filament. Tassels are soft polyester thread. Allergens: Contains no known allergens. Safe for general use. Intended Use: For use as bookmarks only. Not a toy. Keep out of reach of small children to avoid choking hazards. Possible Risks: PLA is brittle and can snap if bent forcefully. Avoid high temperatures (over 60°C / 140°F) as PLA can soften. Not suitable for dishwasher or microwave use. Shipping to EU/NI: Compliant with General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR) Articles 6, 7, and 8.
