I've always loved teasel and use them in dried flower arrangements, but I've often thought I would like to make some other items that incorparate them, and this year I finally made the effort to try and create something, and personally I'm quite happy with the final result.
Being quite dull in their colouring, I decided to contrast this with bright colours, and their shape lends itself quite well to a somewhat abstract representation of an owl. I also like owls generally!
As you may know, teasel are really jaggy, so I've trimmed of the barbs to make them safe to handle.
As they are made from plant material these are UK only items.

Full description
These cheerful decorations which have been made from dried seedheads from my allotment can add a splash of colour to a Christmas tree, or any room at any time of year.
Designed in 2025 each is made with cardboard eyes, wings and tail which has been individually coloured in with permanent ink in a wide variation of colours.
They are oriented one way, and the back of the wings are backed with black card to provide additional strength.
They can be upgraded to have the backs of the wings and tail couloured and / or for glitter trim to the wings and tail to be added.
Due to natural variation in the size of the seed heads the size can vary but the rough size is around 16cm wide by around 11cm in height.
