As a shepardess, maintenance on the sheep is paramount which involves clipping our wooly friends once a year for their comfort and welfare. Their fleeces are so warm and tacktile which inspired me to learn how to wet felt them so it becomes a useable product for all to enjoy.
I am also a huge recycler by heart and to see alot of the fleeces not being used after the sheep have finished with them seemed wrong. Hence the making of these lovely rugs.

Colour is white,
The sheep are the pride and joy of a young girl who follows the guidance of her parents to care for her small flock on the Island of Westray
Cruelty free as the sheep is still grazing the pastures of their family run farm. The fleece has to be clipped for health and welfare reasons usually once a year producing lovely long, crimped locks perfect for me to put a felt backing on it to give a tough fleece rug.
Everything in the making of this rug has natural ingredience, mainly soap, water and energy!
Care of this rug is hand wash only using natural wool soaps as its too big to put in a washing machine! Allow to drip dry. Do not tumble dry.
Although i try my hardest to clean the fleece up, you will still find bits in the wool. mainly small grass seeds or straw!
