I've used a section of upholstery fabric in shades of deep red, orange and russet for the background. The blackbird and the branch he's perching on have been created with different fabrics, including batik and I've added details and texture with embroidery threads. I still love the process of making things, experimenting with colour, pattern and texture, and giving new life to all sorts of materials. I particularly enjoy combining unexpected materials, patterns and colours to create unique mixed-media pieces — so there’s always something a little different to discover. I’m also a big believer in happy postage! If you find more than one item you’d like, I ALWAYS combine postage and refund any excess. I know it can be a little alarming to see the postage total increase as you add items to your basket, but please don’t worry.
