Full description

This handmade gemstone necklace showcases a beautiful Scottish Lewisian Gneiss gemstone. It would make a wonderful gift for someone that loves Scotland or enjoys wearing unique jewellery.

On the back of the silver bezel the Scots word 'fairfaw' has been stamped which is a Scottish blessing. Wouldn't this make a wonderful gift for a loved one?

This necklace has been creating by myself using traditional techniques and recycled sterling silver. The Lewisian Gneiss has a fancy bezel wall and there are two little silver and gold flowers sitting above it. These flowers are inspired by Scottish primroses which are native only to the very North coast of Scotland. The gold in the centre of the flowers is gold foil which has been applied using the ancient technique of Keum Boo.

The width of the pendant (including the flowers) is 47 mm, the gemstone measures 35 x 25 mm and the length of the necklace is 18 inches. It fastens with a toggle clasp and has been hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office.

Your will receive this necklace gift wrapped in a Thistledown Wishes gift box.

Other pieces of Scottish gemstone jewellery are also available from Thistledown Wishes.
