This unique and one-off stunning piece of art is perfect for a plant lover and is made from reclaimed materials.

The design shows a beautiful white orchid in a pot made from a piece of pink pottery found on a Greek beach. The orchid flowers, buds and leaves are crafted from sea glass and the rest of the design has been hand painted. The whole piece has been set onto a backing piece of reclaimed wood that has itself been sanded, hand painted and varnished.

On the reverse there is a hook so that you can easily hang this from a nail or picture hook in a portrait position. The dimensions of the backing piece of wood are 26cm high, 12cm wide and 1cm thick.

I am taking my art in a new direction and experimenting with using reclaimed wood as a backing to work on instead of using frames. I am doing an exhibition at the Blenheim Palace flower show in the summer so I have started working on some new piece inspired by nature and flowers. I am really pleased with how this has turned out and will make someone a really unique gift.
