Wrong Side of Sol presents the art of crochet - beautiful crochet with vibrant colour combinations and eye-catching design. All my artworks are unique, either through the design or the date/signature on the back of the work.
I enjoy experimenting with new materials and processes which means my creative output can be eclectic!!
I wanted to crochet a basket using jute when I discovered sisal. Measuring at approx 3mm diameter means it’s more flexible and goes further than the chunkier jute twines I’d found. The fibres of the sisal agave are also renowned for their strength and durability.
Using a natural material meant it only made sense to me to attempt to dye it using natural ingredients. Several experiments and much mess later I’d produced this wonderful colour :)
