This is a lightweight, but very strong stick made from Willow wood, (Willow is used to make cricket bats, very hard) . The stick has natural curves which is rare for Willow. After removing the bark I sanded it, whittled a small creature out of a thick shoot, treated it with sanding sealer and finished off with Shellac varnish.

I have added a beautiful Chestnut wood hand grip which I carved into the shape of a snake head, adding scales using pyrography, This was then treated with sanding sealer and Tung oil and finally finished with a Shellac varnish.

This stick is 40" long (102cm), it can be cut down in size to suit.
It has a brass ferrule attached and will have a rubber one to slide over this to give grip.

Not sure of the length of walking stick you need? Do this: while standing with arms relaxed by your side measure the distance between the crease in your wrist and the floor, this will be your ideal walking stick length.

I make a lot of walking sticks, when I was given the opportunity to buy a couple of lengths of Willow I grabbed the chance, Knew I was going to make a stick from the shorter one, the longer of the two became a brushing stick.
The handle was an obvious choice , I knew it needed to be a contrast in colour, I knew the exact piece of wood to use, job done
