These earrings are made from two large orange plastic buttons attached to new stainless steel ear posts. Because the buttons are quite old and have been living in a button box for many years they are not perfect, with some scratches and scuffs. The buttons look like they may have come off a coat and make a real statement.

I've inherited a large collection of buttons, containing items from every decade back to the 1940's. I'm slowly going through them and as well as some really unusual glass designs there are a lot of bright plastic buttons in different sizes and colours. These can make lovely and unique earrings and I'm currently trying out a range of ideas. I love the idea of recycling forgotten things in this way.
