I wanted to offer these very rare drilled Thames garnets in as near to their ‘found’ state as possible. They come complete with embedded Thames silt. It appears that the holes have been drilled from both sides to meet in the middle. In some cultures it was customary to drill stones and then string them before shaping them by rubbing repeatedly on a flat stone until round.
