The combination of a soft, light, non-mercerised Egyptian Cotton and luxurious mercerised cotton gives this multicoloured Afghan blanket a gloriously opulent look and feel.
The many rows of “flowers” are bordered on two sides by three dimensional daisies tumbling onto the “pathways”.
This would be the most delightful way to brighten up a bed or a settee as a throw.
Or simply wrap yourself up in its gorgeousness and enjoy.

There are many colours in this blanket giving an overall feeling of purple, lilac.
The border edging is a deep cerise.

My Grandma Flowers taught me how to crochet when I was about 4 or 5 and I wanted to say thank you for giving me such an amazing life skill.
As well as being a superb needlewoman, she was a wonderful gardener and this is my double tribute to her nimble, green fingers.
Her garden was what everyone nowadays aspires to, a wildlife friendly riot of colours, changing throughout the year; a multitude of cottage garden flowers rubbing shoulders with culinary and medicinal herbs. Heaven!
There are almost as many flowers in this vibrant Afghan blanket as she had in her garden and I think, I hope, she would have approved.
