Item details

A luxuriously weighty, heavily textured, crocheted Afghan, bed cover big enough for a King sized bed – the brass bed in the photograph is King Sized.
Handmade using a beautiful yarn by Drops which combines the delicious comfort of Alpaca (35% ) with a beautiful, durable, yet soft, woollen yarn (65%), giving superb shape, drape and durability. Sheer luxury.
And we all deserve a touch of luxury in our lives.

172cms x 190cms
68 inches x 75 inches

Each square is 17.75cms x17.75cms (7 inches square)
And the border is 7.5cms wide (3 inches)
The brass bed that the blanket is photographed on is King Size as a visual guide to its relative size

YARN
Drops Lima 65% Wool, 35% Alpaca

CARE
The yarn is hand washable but with such a huge blanket I think it would be a really difficult task to undertake.
I would suggest Dry Cleaning and spot cleaning with a wool friendly solution in case of the odd tiny spillage.

One of my lifelong passions is gardening, kindled from a young age by my Grandma and Granddad Flowers – an apt surname which I am so proud to have been gifted.
My current garden is wildlife friendly, basically left to its own devices for most of the year, with a quick haircut in the Spring and Autumn. I have always hankered after somewhere big enough to have a bit more formality and when I saw these colours in the Drops Lima range I decided to create a “Parterre Garden” big enough to cover a bed.
A brass bed that is – not a garden bed !
There are 7 colours of “plants” (made in one of my favourite stitch textures) in 7 inch squares, connected by pearl grey “paths” and the whole garden is surrounded by a colourful “mixed border” with “Topiary” balls around the perimeter.
I might never have anywhere big enough for my dream country garden but this goes a long way to satisfying my desire.
I hope you enjoy snuggling underneath it as I enjoyed making it.

FREE POSTAGE and PACKING I will send your package by Royal Mail 1st Class within 3 days of receiving your order. It will be carefully wrapped using as much recycled material as possible. I am sorry but I am not accepting orders from outside the UK for now. Each item in my shop is exclusive to Kate Flowers Studio, handmade by me and unrepeatable. Unique. However, I am more than happy to discuss custom-made items (bearing in mind that Crocheted blankets can take quite a long time to complete).
