I love bats and think that "A Bat is For Life Not Just For Halloween"
However this time of year gives me the opportunity to have some fun making bat models.
This wee fella has faux leather wings with pipe cleaner fingers making them posable and slightly rigid.
The cute wee body is needle felted North Ronaldsay sheep fibre along with a beady pair of glass eyes
A black thread is inserted for hanging your bat and it has a rather pleasing flappy effect if you lift him up and down by it.
approx 35cm wingspan
Please not this is NOT A TOY due to small parts and fibres.

i love bats and my fave is the Greater Horseshoe Bat which is endangered in the UK. What better reason to make bats at the time of year most people associate with bats?!
Of course bats are active all year round and need our support and protection- not fear or prejudice
