I took the theme for the Dreamtime Hare painting for prints and cards from a ceramic piece I created called Into the Woods, Full Moon Sleeping Hare. I wanted to develop the idea of the Hare, burrowed deeply under the Oak tree in Dreamtime. The spirals are the connections from the roots of the Oak tree and the deep burrow where the Hare slumbers peacefully and safely. Here the spiral travels up through the trunk of the Oak to the branches where his dreams reach out into the night sky to Full moon and a host of twinkling stars.
