Item details

I love abstract style and it often makes great stained glass pieces.
The colours are random but still work well together.
It measures 40cm x 30cm.

Every piece was cut from a template, ground smooth, worked into lead cames in my frame.
I then solder every joint on both sides then putty both sides too. The next stage is to cover with whitening to absorb some of the moisture and left to dry a little.
When the putty is dry enough the whole piece has to be cleaned on each side which is extremely time consuming but rewarding as the colours and design start showing through.
The process includes a darkening patina to make the colours really stand out.

A final polish and the piece is ready !

This item took me 18 hours to complete, very time consuming but I always love the process.
If you would like to purchase this, I will make a bespoke wood display stand included in the price or if you prefer, fittings for hanging in a window.

Abstract patterns work so well with glass. I can be creative with the colours that ordinarily would clash but when the light shines through it comes alive.
