Bursting with colour and personality, the Abstract earring collection features stained porcelain slip decoration onto raw porcelain. Individually hand made and hand painted with a vibrant, abstract design using a palette of specially selected, complementary colours.
The result is an unique, one-off piece of wearable porcelain art work.

The surface is sanded, polished and deliberately left unglazed to showcase the tactile and raw, natural beauty of the porcelain. They are fired at high temperature in a pottery kiln to transform the clay into a strong ceramic. Finally, they are hung from a pair of 17mm 14K Gold filled sleeper-style earring hoops, stamped with '1/20 14K'.

To complement the abstract hoop earrings, a colourful contrasting pair of stud earrings is included in the jewellery set. Made from stained porcelain and attached to gold filled stud findings with a butterfly back.

Dimensions:
Hoop Earrings - The porcelain measures approximately 13mm x 9mm wide and 3mm thick. The gold hoops measure approximately 17mm diameter.

Stud Earrings - The porcelain measures approximately 5mm diameter and 3mm thick.

Gift wrapped in a kraft pillow box and finished with branded ribbon and gift card.

I love painting onto porcelain! The white colour of the porcelain serves as the perfect 'blank canvas' in which to receive decoration onto. Abstract painting onto porcelain came about by accident really. I was in my studio staining some porcelain slip (liquid clay) when I accidentally spilt some onto a freshly rolled slab of white porcelain. For an accident, it looked rather good! So I experimented with painting techniques using paintbrushes and a palette of porcelain slip and the abstract collection developed. I admit, it took some trial and error to get the colour palette and the effect to my liking. But I love the effect, the creative freedom with abstract painting and the fact that no two pieces are the same. With the abstract collection, you really are getting a unique piece of art! I couldn't create two exactly the same if I tried! I hope you enjoy the collection as much as I do.
