My work is inspired by my love of nature and the many beautiful coastal walks that I’ve been on around the British coast and the south of Ireland.
I love watching sanderlings as they scurry in packs along the shore as the tide washes out and there is always one that’s left behind and has to quickly run after the main group to catch up.
The colours for this particular brooch were inspired by the gorgeous stretch of sands in Youghal, in the south of Ireland. The morning it poured down but by the afternoon the sun came out sending rainbows across the waves.
