This is an original linocut print titled 'Solstice Feast'. It features a wild rabbit enjoying nature's bounty at the height of a British summer, feasting on strawberry leaves as a dragonfly zips through the air nearby. As well as strawberry plants, the print also features sunflowers, daisies, grass and forget-me-nots. Made using oil-based black relief ink hand-printed onto smooth, white 100gsm paper (FSC and EU Ecolabel certified). The print is number 2 in the fourth variation of an open edition. The print measures approximately 26.8cm high by 20.2cm wide, and comes editioned, signed and dated.

The photos I have used in this listing are of the exact print you will receive. As no two lino prints will ever look the same, please check the images to ensure you are happy with the print.

If you live in the UK, the print is sent using Royal Mail Signed For 2nd Class. For all other countries it will be sent using Royal Mail International Standard Tracked & Signed.

Welcome to my Folksy shop! After selling my art and illustrations for 18 months I decided to create a shop specifically for my original works such as lino prints, screen prints and paintings.

I love to strawberry pick in the summer, and the strawberries are often their sweetest and ripest in the longest, hottest summer days. I always notice a few wild rabbit poops nearby, where cheeky cottontails have been enjoying a nibble on the strawberry plants when dusk draws in. It's a beautiful way to spend a day, with sunflowers growing in a nearby field and dragonflies zipping through the air.

Culturally, summer solstice is a bittersweet occasion: it celebrates summer at its peak, and at the same time marks the date after which the days begin getting shorter. In this linocut I wanted to depict the beautiful climax of a British summer and all that it provides that we have to be so grateful for.
