My mum taught me how to make these lampshades and she was taught how to make them by an interior designer in the south of France in exchange for a favour she did for this person. We started by making them just for ourselves and then giving them as gifts to other people. So many people comment on them when they are in my home or my parents home and wanted to know where they came from that I realised it would be a great addition to my shop. The frames all come from France and are not available in the UK. One of my favourite shops is Liberty of London and I could spend hours looking through all their fabric. Each Lamp brings up so many images in my head depending on the shape and fabric used, this is reflected in the descriptions I give for each piece.
