Square Japanese style plate, ideal for Sushi, spring rolls, samosa or any street food you fancy....

22 cm square, 3 cm high, with 2cm wide rim.

The plate was press moulded using a plaster mould that was made from a wooden original. See my Instagram showing how it was made.

Made with buff stoneware glaze. After turning out from the mould red clay slip was brushed on the flat surface, then using a home-made ladle white slip was trailed diagonally over the plate. Glazed with a green Celadon glaze and fired in my gas kiln at 1260 C. The buff clay develops a speckled colour, while the slips give different subtle shades of green.

Food and dishwasher safe, although we prefer to hand wash our homemade pots.
