When I lived in Wiltshire, one of my favourite walks led up onto the downs through a steep cutting, finally to arrive high up on the hills with far reaching views. It is a chalk landscape & the white tracks are very typical of this area. Because it is high up & windy, any trees tend to be thorny & tough. They grow shaped by the prevailing winds.
Since moving up to Wales, I`ve often used memories & images from my time down south, as inspiration. I have many sketch books full of drawings, completed during my walks.
